    2017 NFL Draft Day Two

Backup or starter, or future star?

  2. #2
I'll go with defense and predict a starter by mid-season. We usually do well in the second round.

  3. #3
Well they could go Mixon, Cook, Foster, McDowell... and if they take Mixon or Cook they could go Jarron Jones in the Third.

  4. #4
I still want Gonzalez with the first third rounder

    LB Tyus Bowser
    LB Zach Cunningham
    Edge Carl Lawson
    Edge Jordan Willis
    DL Malik McDowell
    RB Joe Mixon
    RB Dalvin Cook
    S Obi Melifonwu
    S Budda Baker
    OL Cam Robinson
    OL Forrest LAmp
    OG Dan Feeney

I'd be happy with any of those players at 41.
potential targets for Bengals #1 overall pick in 2018:
QB's- Sam Darnold, Josh Rosen, Josh Allen, Mason Rudolf
OT's- Orlando Brown, Connor Williams, Mike McGlinchey

Kamara is also up there with Mixon and Cook.

Lamp would probably be a good long term pick for the Bengals if they don't think Westerman is going to work out. Lamp played tackle but is considered the best OG prospect in the draft.

    41:
    OL Forrest Lamp
    LB Zach Cunningham
    Edge Carl Lawson
    DL Malik McDowell
    &DE Terrell Basham

    73:
    DE Jordan Willis
    OG/RT Taylor Moton
    LB Raekwon McMillan
    S Obi Melifonwu
    S Budda Baker
    OG Dan Feeney
    LB Tyus Bowser
    RB Joe Mixon
    RB Dalvin Cook
    OT Antonio Garcia

Don't want to see RB in day 2. Want to double up on defensive front seven or get OL security.

I could see the Bengals drafting Jarron Jones in Round 3 or possibly round 4. He's HUGE at 6'6" and 315 lbs. He'd work great in the Bengals D-line rotation with Geno, Billings, Sims, Hardison, and Williams. He'd especially be a great nickle DT.

    Great value with either there.

Or wait until the 3rd and get Dan Feeney if he is still around. If they think something like that, Joe Mixon all day long at #41.

A lot of good players are going to fly off the board ahead of us. It will be interesting to see if anyone grabs Mixon or if we pull the publicity nightmare trigger and go for it. It will cost you fans short term but could be a bonanza if he pans out.

That said, I am with Hobs and think they take the Margus Hunt type project again, Kpassagnon. He is not quite so raw and is physically right up our alley. Probably the best measurables of any DE in the draft.

I think lamp is gone in the 2nd but hope someone like Pocic the center from LSU is there in the third.

Someone mentioned defensive tackle but I think we are pretty loaded there right now. Not sure we have room for another project.

DE, LB and OLine would be my priority save some talent that you just can't pass like a Mixon.

    Cam Robinson
    Forrest Lamp
    Dalvin Cook
Dion Dawkins (he can play tackle for sure)
    Zack Cunningham
    Tyus Bowser
    Alvin Kamara

Any of those guys and I'm stoked. Any of these guys and I'm OK:

    Chidobe Awuzie
    Raekwon MacMillan
    Tim Williams
    Carl Lawson
    Tarrell Basham
    Antonio Garcia

I suppose I could see Rod Johnson or Dan Feeney, though they'd be mild reaches. There are also some very good CBs left like King, Moreau and Wilson. We don't need one necessarily, but if the Bengals have a first round grade one them it could happen.

Malik McDowell is pretty boom or bust. I think we might be able to get him in round 3, and if not so be it.

I watched the video of Mixon's apology press conference and I've warmed to the idea of picking him a little, but it still puts a bad feeling in my gut.

I also predict Pocic will drop to day 3. I'd love it if we picked Elflein though.

listening to 700wlw last night, Lap said if Mixon is there at 41 he'll be the pick.....FWIW

Come to think of it, I bet the Packers take Mixon at 33. I'm guessing that's why they traded down, knowing nobody would spend a first on him but that he'd be hot property in the second.

I'd like that pick! Green Bay is shopping the 33rd pick from what I have read this morning. Not sure what it would cost us to make a trade.

  21. #21
Here's my best guess for the top 8 picks of round 2 (although I hadn't heard anything about GB shopping its pick):

    GB. Joe Mixon
    Sea. Kevin King
    Jax. Cam Robinson
    Chi. Budda Baker
    LaR. Forrest Lamp
    NYJ. Tim Williams
    Car. Dion Dawkins

I'd pick Cunningham or Bowser in that event, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Basham or Kpassagnon.

  22. #22
All I know is, that if it is anything like the picks to begin last night, I haven't the slightest idea who could be there at 41.

I have a feeling the Packers are after a CB....likely Quincy Wilson or Chidobe Awuzie..

#Jets have been making calls regarding a potential trade of DL Sheldon Richardson. This was their plan coming in. Won’t give him away, tho

The only 2 guys I've really wanted this draft are Elflein and Kpasagnon(however ya spell it). They are both there for the picking meaning we shall not get them.

We move to 48 why? Pick up a 4th rounder
